Operation
[Baton
Rouge, LA] [October 4, 2005] -- The Set Free Indeed Ministry
and Free Indeed Faith-Based Intense Outpatient Clinic today
announced that Jim Towey of the White House Office of
Faith-Based and Community Initiatives will be visiting their
clinic on Thursday to meet with non-profit agencies
instrumental in disaster relief. Towey will also observe the
counseling services provided by Free Indeed Faith-Based
Outpatient Clinic and meet with other non-profit agencies
instrumental in providing aid to Louisiana citizens
displayed by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Support groups are available for anyone who is feeling
stress, depression or experiencing other emotional issues
due to the tragic events. These sessions are free and open
to the public. According to Tonja Myles, "The faith-based
treatment we are giving is truly benefiting the mental and
emotional state of people that have been through a tragic
time. We are honored that the White House has once again
noticed our work and are proud to have Mr. Towey visit us
this week."
"This
unprecedented disaster has provided an opportunity for the
nation to come together as never before," Myles continued.
"We must take every precaution to avoid rifts in the inroads
we are making to rebuild broken lives with the same level of
commitment as the bricks-and-mortar rebuilding of the
devastated areas".
